Common Questions
What golf tournament organizers ask before they switch to Tourlyx.
What is the best app for running a golf tournament?
Tourlyx handles the whole day in one place: pairings and tee sheet, live scoring from any phone, a shareable leaderboard, flights, skins and side bets, and the final prize payout. You do not need a spreadsheet alongside it.
Can I run a charity golf outing or scramble with Tourlyx?
Yes. Scramble, best ball, stroke play, Stableford, match play and Ryder Cup formats are all supported, with shotgun starts, sponsor signs, mulligan sales and a funding report that shows whether the outing covers its own prizes.
Does Tourlyx calculate golf handicaps and net scores?
It applies USGA-standard handicap allowances and course/slope ratings per tee, then calculates net and gross scores automatically as scores are entered.
How do I run a skins game?
Turn skins on, set the buy-in, and Tourlyx tracks gross or net skins with automatic carryovers, splits the pot, and shows exactly who owes and who collects. Nassau, Wolf and custom side bets work the same way.
Can golfers see a live leaderboard on their phones?
Yes. Every tournament gets a public live leaderboard link you can text or post. It updates as scores come in — no app install needed for your golfers.
Is Tourlyx free to try?
Yes — you can start a free trial with no credit card. Paid plans add skins, match play, season points, fun stats and higher scan allowances.
Is Tourlyx a good Golf Genius alternative?
For groups that care about side games, prize money and season-long play, Tourlyx is faster to set up and far cheaper. Golf Genius is stronger for official club handicapping and large multi-club operations — we compare the two honestly on our comparison page.
