Comparison · Updated October 2026
These two tools get mistaken for each other and shouldn’t be. Golf League Tracker runs a season: the same players, the same night, every week, with subs and standings. Tourlyx runs the event: a field, a draw, a prize pool, and a settlement at the end of the day.
Tourlyx leads
4
of 7 categories — tournament day, prize money and side games, team formats, and the depth of season standings
Golf League Tracker leads
3
weekly league mechanics, substitutes and league handicap controls, and a mature league report library
“Leads” means clearly stronger for the tournament organizer — not that the other side lacks the feature entirely. Rows reflect what ships in Tourlyx today versus Golf League Tracker’s published product.
Recurring weekly league schedule
One-click season schedule generation, segments, fixed weekly match-ups players can view and print
Substitute request system
Players request a sub on the site, subs are emailed, the sub’s name and handicap print on the card and are picked up at score entry — Tourlyx has no equivalent
League handicap controls
Cap how much a handicap may move, limit strokes given in a match or on par 3s, choose rounds counted and the handicap percentage
Absent-player and sub scoring rules
Per-league limits on what an absent player or substitute may score
Weekly points with manual override
Automatic points plus hand-overrides for one-off rules such as a closest-to-the-pin contest
Season points across many events
Both keep a running points race; Tourlyx adds best-N scoring, participation points and per-event multipliers
Objective tiebreakers
Wins → top-3 finishes → USGA countback, with the deciding reason shown to golfers
Flighted standings
Season flights with separate standings kept per flight
Public leaderboard with no login
Shareable link and QR code; standings freeze on finalize
Divisions within one league
Golf League Tracker calls these League Groups, and can run one shared skins game or one per group
Pairings & tee sheet
Handicap-balanced draw, preferred/avoid partners, two waves, tee times or shotgun holes, printed cart signs
Flights for a one-day field
Handicap, age, gender, member-status or custom flights, each paid separately
Contests
Closest to the pin, longest drive, putting contests and raffles, with buy-ins, winners and payouts tracked
Live Scoring Control Center
Per-group status, flags for missing or suspicious cards, verify and lock
Live scoring & leaderboard
Both offer phone score entry with a live leaderboard
Skins
Both do net and gross skins with a weekly pot. Tourlyx adds carryovers, twosome and foursome skins, fixed / pro-rata / by-rank payouts, and whole-field, flight or selected-player scope
“Is my tournament funded?” verdict
Plain-language funded or short call, with the gap and how to close it
Prize money & purse builder
Budget-aware payout curve filling every flight × day cash cell, physical prize inventory, award-ceremony sheet
Side-game settlement sheets
Who owes whom, per player, printable — across skins, Nassau, Wolf and match play
Dues & entry-fee tracking
Golf League Tracker tracks league dues per player; Tourlyx tracks registrations, payment methods and an end-of-day settlement
Four-player team formats
Scramble, foursome and twosome prize categories, Chapman and Ryder Cup — Golf League Tracker covers individual or 2-player teams
Match play, Nassau & Wolf
Dedicated pages with settlement sheets, including threesome variants
League scoring systems

9-hole league rounds
First-class 9-hole league support with multiple tee boxes
Field and season limits
Golf League Tracker caps a league at 100 players (200 with an add-on), 30 rounds, and one season inside 365 days; Tourlyx has no weekly-season model to cap
League report library
Dozens of built-in standings, player, team, handicap and contest reports built up over years
Financial reporting
Money Flow schematic, printable financial statement, golfer audit trail, settlement reconciliation
Maturity for weekly leagues
A long-established tool doing one job, with the edge cases already found
AI tournament setup
Describe the event in plain English, review the blueprint, apply it in one click
Modern interface
Single-page app, mobile-first scoring, weekly shipping cadence
Set up once a season
A league is configured once in spring and then largely left alone — less to set up than a per-event tool
If you run a weekly league, Golf League Tracker is the better fit today and it isn’t close. The substitute request system alone — a player claiming a sub on the site, the sub emailed, their handicap already on the card at score entry — is the spine of a weekly league, and Tourlyx has nothing like it. Add capped handicap movement and 9-hole play as a first-class citizen, and it’s plainly a tool that has spent years with real league administrators.
If you run an event — a scramble, a charity outing, a member-guest — the gap runs the other way. Golf League Tracker has no pairings engine, no flights for a one-day field, no prize purse builder and no funding verdict, and it tops out at two-player teams, so a foursome format is off the table.
The short version: a league is a schedule; a tournament is a pot of money. Pick the tool that matches which of those is actually your problem. If your group does both, they coexist fine — plenty of leagues run the season one way and the year-end outing another.
